Mr. Anthony Eugene Portis, Sr.


For I already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.  II Timothy 4:6


Anthony Eugene Portis, Sr. was born February 21, 1961 to Calla Lily Portis and Rufus Henry Galloway.


Anthony confessed his life to the Lord early in life and remained a faithful servant.


Anthony attended Webster Grove School District until 1978 when he enlisted in the United States Army, where he was an expert shooter and finished school and received his GED.  He served his country from August 3, 1978 to June 7, 1983.


Anthony worked for Kirby Vacuum Cleaners for many years.  He met his wife Melinda and they were married on May 17, 2002.  From this union they had four children:  Anthony Eugene Portis, Jr., Austen Nathaniel Portis, Miranda Alexander Portis, Andrew Clarence Portis; grandson, Kyrie Almir Chatman.


Anthony was always the life of the arty.  He loved his family and friends.  He was always sure that everyone was okay.


Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Henry Galloway and baby brother, Darren Watson.


Anthony received his wings on November 4, 2024, Broken hearted relatives left to cherish Anthony's memories are: His mother, Calla Lily White; his children,
Anthony, Jr., Austen, Miranda and Andrew; grandson, Kyrie, Big Brother/Cousin, David Turner; five sisters, Pauletta Lynn Portis, Rosemary Clarence Watson, Wendy Renee' (Ronald) Robinson, Yolanda Galloway and Antionette Galloway; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving family and friends.
