Life Reflection of Alice Mary Gaikins Alice Mary Tyler Gaikins was born to the union of Maymie Lee and Walter J. Tyler on May 2, 1943 in St. Louis County, Missouri. She was the youngest of three children. Her parents preceded her to eternity. Alice was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Brentwood, Missouri and graduated from Brentwood High School in 1963. Alice met her future husband Don W. Gaikins, Sr. on a blind date in 1964. They met on a second blind date a few weeks later and were united in Holy Matrimony on June 25, 1965. To this union three children were born Heidi Gaikins, Lisa Gaikins-Glover, and Don W Gaikins, Jr. Alice loved children and devoted her life to their care. She provided day care for numerous children and also worked for more than 20 years in the St. Louis Public School Systern. She never met a child she didn't love immediately.
