Aire'Onna Joyvonne Powers

Life Reflections Aire"Onna JoyVonne Powers was born to the union of Brandon Sloan and LaJoya Patrice Hurston May 14, 1998 in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life on January 4th, 2021. Two grandmothers peceded her in death; Donna Matthews (Nanna), Vickie Denise Hurst and one great grandmother JoyceParker. She attended Twillman Elementary School and Hazelwood East High, but graduated from PennFoster at the age of sixteen. She worked at Extra Care Home Health Agency as a healthcare aide. Shewas spiritually blessed after birth at Samaritan Baptist Church. She later attended Kinloch Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Hughie W. Ellison. She par-ticipated in Easter plays, Christmas programs, sand in the children's choir and adult choir. She was verymusical and learned to play the trombone. She loved to dance and sing. She sang in all her school choirs. She was a poet. Her first poem was dedicated to Sojourner Truth. In later years she was blessed with a beautiful daughter Selena Giavonni Marie Powers. Her daughter was the joy of her life. She was very protective of her siblings and daughter. She would provide anythingthey needed even if it were her last. She loved her mother and siblings very much as well as her entirefamily. She leaves to cherish in her memory, Giavonni Marie Powers (daughter), LaJoya Patrice Hurst (mother),Brandon Sloan (father), three siblings on her father's side, three sisters, Jalisa Williams, Breonna Gillom and Aaliyah Gillom, two brothers, Demetrius Gillom and Damarion Gillom, Robert Hurst, Jr. (grandfather),Robert and Patricia Hurst (great grandparents), Johnny and Sandra Green (great grandparents), and Dorothyharris (great great grandmother), three God sisters, a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends.
