Life Reflections Susan Gwenvera Payne was born December 11, 1955 to the union of Robert and Hattie Ruth Johnson, Susan was the oldest girl of 15 children. Preceding her in death: father Robert E. Johnson, mother Hattie Ruth Johnson, grandmother Bessie Butler, brothers, Donald, Robert and Johnny, nephews, Dontori Johnson and Willie Thomas. Susan Gwenvera Payne was reared in St. Louis, Missouri, grew up in Robertson, Missouri. She graduated from Berekley Senior High in 1974, and attended Art School in Detroit, Michigan. Susan professed a belief in Christ at a young age under the leadership of Reverend James Butler. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Susan worked for Gustov for over 20 years until they closed. She worked for Weissman as a supervisor where she made a lot of the uniforms and dance ware for different schools and dance groups. While working at Weissman she took care of her grandmother until she passed. She retired from Weissman to take care of her mother and father until they passed. Susan loved people she never met a stranger. She saw the best in everyone. She loved Co cook, sew and her passion was drawing. if you were hungry she fed you, if you needed somewhere to stay she would not turn you away. She always gave you a word about Jesus. Susan took care of her family and loved it. All of her siblings were her children. Susan Gwenvera leaves to cherish her memories: son, Isiah Johnson; siblings, Bessie Johnson, Eunice Johnson, Joseph (Jean), Jacquline (Bruce) Edwards, Mary Skyes and Marvin Johnson; sister-in-law, Monica Johnson; uncle Glen, Friemont of CA; aunts, Willie Mae Graves of Chicago, IL, Katmyn Johnson, St. Louis, MO; Lucretia Rhodes- godmother; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery 7800 St. Charles Rock Road St. Louis, MO 63114 .
