Life ReflectionsRichard Lamont Crump was born November 12, 1949 in Edwardsville, Illinois. He was Christened at an early age at Wesley Chapel AME church. Handsome, sharp as a whip and full of extra energy, Richard went on to graduate from Edwardsvi[le Senior High School where he was an above average student who wrestred and qualified for the state championship his senior year - boasting a 30+ win season. Upon graduation Richard served his country in Vietnam. After the war he held several jobs and retired from Wexford Labs in 2014. Richard was a fun-loving person who enjoyed life and friends to the fullest. "Uncle Rich" as he was often referred, never met a person that didn't become a friend! Confident, fun-loving, fierce, and competitive are just some of the adjectives that describe Richard. Richard Crump was very charismatic with signature gestures, phrases and a belch that would register a 9.0 on the Richter scale. He was extremely confident and his desire to help was sometimes greater than his ability but that never deterred his effort. Richard was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Jesse and Mabel Brown, paternal grandparents Jim Crump and Dorothy Spence. Parents, James "Buddy" Crump and Shirley frump, baby sister Pamela M. Crump, four aunts and two uncles. To cherish his memory, Richard leaves his long-time life partner Audrey Perry (St. Louis) older brother James E. Crump (Pauline) Wichita KS,. older sister Debra J. Crump, St. Louis, daughters Rae Sharp of Atlanta, GA, and Randi Crump of St. Louis, MO, He also leaves behind grandchildren Imani 21, Kieren 18, Ayanna 11, Ava 2, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ironically, we mourn the day of Richard's passing on the day granddaughter Ayanna celebrated her 11th birthday. Interment:J.B. National Cemetery2900 Sheridan RoadSt. Louis, MO 63125 .
