Jacqueline C. Brooks

Life Reflections Jacqueline C. Jackson was born on April 12, 1942 to Walter P. Jackson, Sr. and Jacquella A. Jackson, who both preceded her in death. Jacqueline grew up in Evansville, Indiana where she confessed a hope in Christ at 12 years old. She united with the Nazarene Baptist Church where she served as an usher, was a member of the choir, and taught Sunday school. Jacqueline graduated from Lincoln High School in Evansville, Indiana prior to mov-ing with her family to Kirkwood, Missouri. Jacqueline married Lee Hawkins, Jr., a fellow classmate, and to this union were born two children: Walter Reco and Latise Antonette. The family resided in Oceanside, California until they returned to Kirkwood, Missouri. Jacqueline joined the First Baptist Church of Meacham Park and served in the capacity of a Sunday school teacher and as the President of the Young Lady's Mission Union. Jacqueline met and married David W. Brooks in 1996, who also preceded her in death in 2003. She became a member of Glendale Memorial Baptist Church where she served as the Chairman of the Women's Mission Union, the Director of the Annual Soul Food Banquet, and assisted with the Food Pantry. Jacqueline retired from the Kirkwood School District in 2005 as a secretary after 28 years of service. In August 2016, Jacqueline joined Harrison Avenue Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active and faithful member. Jacqueline leaves in God's care: her son, Walter Reco (Natalie) and her daughter, Latise Antonette (David); her granddaughters, Kayla Jetton and Jalayna Reshea; her sisters, Patricia Ann and Danita Kay; her brother, Walter P.
