Life ReflectionsIda Beatrice Jefferson was born October 8, 1923 in Marion County, Mississippi to Enoch and Lillie Jefferson (there she attended Glove Academy School). Ida surrendered to Christ at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Hub, Mississippi. Following the passing of her parents she moved with her siblings to St. Louis, Missouri in the beginning of 1940. She met and dated McKinley Johnson, on March 20th 1942 they united in Holy Matrimony and from this union there were eight children. While McKinley served as a 3rd Class Cook in the U.S. Navy, Ida 13. handled the parental responsibilities rearing their children, guided by biblical standards Jesus had set for the family. McKinley and Ida served as Christians at Mount Zion Baptist Church under the late Rev. James E. Fiddmont. Ida Bea's last church membership was with Trinty Mount Carmel Baptist Church under the late Rev. Charles Roach. Ida 13. worked as a Nurse Aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond Heights, Missouri for over 20 years. Upon retirement she cared for family, friends and the elderly as long as her health allowed. Ida 13. departed this life on Tuesday evening, December 26, 2017 at her home in Rock Hill, Missouri. She leaves to mourn: a sister, Rebecca Kinney (Alaska); seven children, McKinley HI, Raleigh Marvin (Debbie), Ida L., Herman Edward, Gayle P. Bruce, Don Clifford and Terry Douglass (Jenefer); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, a host of other relatives, the Holleys and friends.
