Eugene Howard Mcdonald

July 7, 1932 — December 13, 2018

Life Reflections Mr. Eugene Howard McDonald was born July 7th, 1932 in Bonner Spring, KS to Robert McDonald and Eleanor Ruby (Shepherd) Duncan. He was the eldest of two children. Eugene and his mother moved to Kansas City, MO in his early childhood. As a young boy he accepted the Lord and Savior in his life and rededicated his life in later years. During his youth Eugene took an interest in boy scouts and boxing. He was a quiet, reserved, and intelligent man, but when he spoke you listened. For everything that he said there was a lesson to be learned. He was generous to everyone but frugal with himself. Eugene proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air force. Upon completion of his tour he enlisted into the Air force Reserves as a Flight Engineer, rising to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He also worked for the United States Army in the Civil Service as an Equipment Specialist on the Black Hawk Helicopter. All while attending Columbia College and receiving an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Upon his retirement he spent his time fishing, playing or watching golf, and traveling. He leaves to cherish his memory: 3 children, Marcia Chambers, Rodney (Mary) Williams, Tammy (Darrell) Buckley, 10 grand-children, Lesley, Tiffany, Keysha, Ericka, Nicholas, Tyler, Christopher, Ashley, Jonathan and Jordan; 6 (and one soon to arrive) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosalee, one daughter, Eugenia McDonald, both parents, and his brother, David Duncan, Jr. Eugene was known by many names, Dad, Daddy, Pops, Foppie, Mac, Pete, Pee Wee, Mr. Mac, McDonald, Old Man Rivers or Chief. He impacted our lives greatly and truly will be missed. Interment: J.B. National Cemetery 2900 Sheridan Avenue St. Louis, MO 63125 .
