Life ReflectionsBetty Louise Daugherty was a loving, compassionate, and caring person who was loved by many. fromher children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, to her many friends, church family, and others whoknew her, she will be a long lasting memory in our hearts and minds.Betty was born in Dayton, Ohio and graduated from Dunbar High School. She attended nursing school be-fore deciding that she wanted to pursue a career in Child Care development and receive her professionalcertification. Over the years, she provided childcare services to many children who fondly call her "MissBetty". Cooking was also a passion and a well-developed skill that she demonstrated over the years fromher home kitchen to the widely known 'B&F Cafeteria' of East St. Louis, Illinois. Betty will be rememberedfor her signature 'peach cobbler' dessert that everyone loved.Betty accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church ofRobertson serving in various roles including birthday celebrations and the Usher Board for many years.On Sunday, October 18, 2015, Betty departed this life to be with Christ. She leaves to cherish her memorythree daughters, four sons, and their families: FLORENCE BABALOLA, JAMES DAUGHERTY (Beverly), NORMANDAUGHERTY (Joyce), WENDELL DAUGHERTY (Yvette), KENNETH DAUGHERTY (Nedra), REHENA ANDERSON,and RHONDA DAUGHERTY. Betty was blessed to have over 80 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, proudlyremembering names and birthdays of them all. She was an avid family historian and was happy to share treasured family memories at our many gatherings.Betty was preceded in death by her parents HENRY AND FLORENCE DAUGHERTY, and loving daughter LYNETTEDAUGHERTY-HICKS.A GRAND-DAUGHTER'S REFLECTIONMutiple generations have had the privilege to be blessed by this woman's presence and, per her words, she'sbeen blessed with children whom did right by her, not by perfection, but by love.
